The lovely wife, Rosemarie, is haunted with a violent past that she surpresses except for occasional binge drinking. In the last volume, Chuckie O'Malley was tossed Priest, sociologist, author, and journalist, Father Andrew M. Greeley was the author of over 50 bestselling novels and more than works of nonfiction. I think Ms. Woods rushed this book out the door - it needed several more edits and rewrites to get it to her usual standard.

April 10, - Published on Amazon. An unlikely one to be involved with a man, the twin who has had her life planned out since high school, and is now a top med student doing an internship at a Baltimore hospital, not only is in a real with Noah McIlroy, a resident at the hospital, but pregnant with his child.

She now is tormented internally by how she can have a life with Noah and their child, and her dream of going to Africa to help villages in need of medical help. Can she make the decision without losing the future with Noah and giving up on her dream? Of course the O' Brown meddling is in full force once again but will this be the time they go too far? This is a story about love and family, like all Chesapeake Shores books, but also patience. Will read reviews more carefully going forward. It took everything I had to stay with this book. I love this series and I love the family characters but Caitlyn was a spoiled self centered brat who I could not relate to and got really sick of.

I could not reconcile how smart she was, well organized and a planner with the fact that she could not deal with an unexpected pregnancy the same way she dealt with the rest of her life up to that point. It just did not make sense to me.

Her dreams were all that mattered and because they might get postponed she could not reconcile it. Just not what I expect from Sherryl Woods in this series. It took way to long for her to realize that all her dreams were achievable but maybe not in the way she thought originally or in her original time frame. Her character was too smart to feel that way for an entire pregnancy. She had so much backup with the baby daddy and her family and I just could not relate to her character not realizing how to make it all work.

I honestly disliked her so much I almost stopped reading.

I found the main female character Rosemarie annoying thus I had a hard time picking up this book. It was tough to get thru. My first book written by Greeley and found the intimate moments of the characters squirmish for me.

Enjoyed the historical footnotes of the fifties and sixties. Will try another book by Greeley which is not part of this family saga. Aug 28, Claire rated it really liked it. Another winner by Greeley.

Dec 27, Gerald rated it really liked it Shelves: author-greeley , theme-family-saga , , genre-fiction. The Christmas Wedding is, of course, that of Charles C. It takes them, through all their ups and downs, trials and tribulations from the early 's to the Camelot Years of the Kennedy Administration. I have most thoroughly enjoyed every one of the novels I've read by Father Andrew M. Greeley's books would not appeal to everyone.

Andrew M Greeley - O'malley Family 04 - A Christmas Wedding –

For those of you who give them a try, I'm sure you'll be pleasantly surprised. I do recommend them. Very interesting and twisty look at love and life especially for a Roman Catholic priest! This was a bit of a sleeper at times.

It follows the O'Malley clan through the the years, particularly one Charles Cronin O'Malley as he makes his way through life's pitfalls and rewards. There is, of course, the expected Christmas wedding as is mentioned in the title. But there is so much more. There's sex, surprise again!

Nov 21, Cathie rated it really liked it. The title is deceiving. There's nothing about Christmas in this book except the day they were married. Was a long read and at times boring.
